More from the FB Files

I cannot believe how much I get on my wall in just the span of a few weeks. I was going to spend the weekend cleaning it up, but we went to a funeral for my husband's great uncle. He was in WWII in the Asiatic Pacific. He was a true hero. He received a Bronze Star for his heroics during battle. What a great man.

So today, I brought over another list of books for reading and just edited that page. The list for the 50 states has been written out so it is easier to read. I added 23 books that should be read in high school (and some were and some weren't).
I also have some music that I put up for my girls as a reminder to them that they are beautiful:

There are more recipes, that I want to try out and some more patterns to make. I will remind everyone, that unless I made this recipe, I will give credit where credit is due, but if I don't know who should get credit and you do, please put a message in the comments and I will credit the correct person.

Homeschooling, E-Schooling Links

Since I started e-schooling my girls (and yes, that is what I am doing so that I have a teacher back up for when I just cannot get a child to understand something), I have started saving links to things that could help them and others who are traditional B&M (brick and mortar), e-schooling or even homeschooling.

WV - Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor (I just read this in November, so I don't plan on re-reading this soon).
WI - Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
WY - The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman
I think it would be interesting to read books that are associated with a state.
I have read, in the past, MA - "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau, MO - "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain, NY - "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, VA - "Bridge to Terabithia" by Katherine Paterson, WV - "Shiloh" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, WI - "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Some not recently, some just last year (as in November or December).

Edited to add: I found another that says 23 books you should read in high school. So I am going to add that to my reading for the year. I read a lot of these in high school and college. In high school at the end of the year, many girls threw away the books. They hated them that much. I would retrieve the books and read them over the summer (I was told I was too stupid to participate in the classes that these books were read in). Most of these I have already read and I will re-read them, but there are a few I had not read.
        1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (already read this).
        2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (already read this).
        3. Night by Elie Weisel (already read this).
        4. Lord of the Flies by William Golding (already read this).
        5. Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad (already read this).
        6. Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger (already read this).
        7. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (already read this).
        8. 1984 by George Orwell (already read this).
        9. Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (already read this).
       10. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (already read this).
       11. Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe (already read this).
       12. Animal Farm by George Orwell (I have never read this, but looks like I will be).
       13. Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett
       14. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
       15. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
       16. As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner

More things from FB to be saved for use later

I have filled up my Facebook page with more things. I have also been clearing off my page of all the old things that I had up. I used to play so many games, but now not so many, just some things that my girls like to play. If you see a recipe without a link or a person who is responsible, that means I don't know who gets credit. Please let me know and I will mark it correctly.
